Barbara Kruger: Untitled (Pride and Contempt)
A 90-meter text mural wraps the façade of the National Library of Greece, flanked by installations running both banks of the SNFCC Canal. Barbara Kruger has translated her vocabulary of power, belief, and public language into Greek for the first time — thirteen site-specific works commissioned by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation for the cultural center's outdoor spaces. This is Kruger's first solo exhibition in Greece, curated by Katerina Stathopoulou.
Park Your Cinema 2026: Dreamgirls (2006)
In her film debut, Jennifer Hudson — fresh from a Season 3 American Idol run — delivers 'And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going' midway through Bill Condon's *Dreamgirls* and wins the 2007 Best Supporting Actress Oscar for it. The film plays under the open sky at SNFCC on Friday 24 July 2026, part of Park Your Cinema's 11th edition and the 2026 'Musicals under the stars' slate. Adapted from the 1981 Broadway musical, *Dreamgirls* tracks the rise of a 1960s Detroit girl group — the Dreamettes, later the Dreams — through the engine of a Motown-modelled label and the cost paid by the singer pushed to the back.
Slaughter to Prevail
Slaughter to Prevail bring their summer European tour to Floyd in Gazi on 24 July 2026. The Russian deathcore outfit are touring behind GRIZZLY, released in July 2025 through Sumerian Records, with Crypta joining as support on selected dates. Floyd opened in October 2023 with a sold-out Blind Guardian show and has been booking the heavier end of the international touring circuit since — Epica, Franz Ferdinand, the tier of acts that used to skip Athens for Thessaloniki.
KAS:ST I Anfisa Letyago I Fri July 24
A double-bill pairing KAS:ST — the techno duo whose collaborators include Artbat, Gordo, and Moby — with Anfisa Letyago, the Naples-based DJ-producer whose hypnotic sets have circled the global festival circuit. Bolivar Beach Bar in Alimos marks its 22nd-anniversary summer with another run of international techno on the Saronic Gulf coast. Letyago and KAS:ST occupy adjacent territory — melodic, atmospheric techno that holds tension across long sets — making the pairing less a clash than a continuous arc through the night.
ACN with 3.14 // Katra
There is no sign on the building — you find Astron by the windows shaking on Leoforos Konstantinoupoleos. ACN, the club's own Astron Club Nights series, hands this night to 3.14, who returns weeks after playing Astron Fest, alongside resident Katra, a vinyl collector whose sets pull toward hypnotic, psychedelic techno.
Purple Night x SMUT
One night, two queer dance institutions on the same floor: Purple Night, the roaming LGBTQI+ party series steered by residents The Dreamer, Wrapped in Plastic and Dennis D'or, takes over SMUT at Vatsaxi 4 on Friday 24 July 2026, from 23:59. Purple Night built its crowd by moving venue to venue across Athens; SMUT answers with a ~300-capacity techno room where the queer community sets the terms, week after week. The door is the ritual: creative or fetish attire is expected, and an RA ticket (15-20 EUR) buys priority, not guaranteed entry. Dress deliberately, arrive before the room fills, and treat the dance floor as the point.
Park Your Cinema Kids: Ώρα για Σερφ (2007)
A documentary crew trails a small-town penguin chasing surf glory — that is the conceit of *Surf's Up*, the 2007 animated mockumentary screening on the Great Lawn of the SNFCC on 25 July 2026. Watched beside the actual sea, its faux-vintage footage of wipeouts and wave culture lands differently than it does on a living-room couch. *Surf's Up* earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Feature, the rare children's film built as a spoof of the sports documentary — handheld, talking-heads, mid-interview.
Sabaton
Sabaton close Release Athens 2026 on 25 July, four years after the Swedish power-metal band first played this open-air ground at Plateia Nerou. They headline a heavy bill that also brings Savatage back to Athens after years away, alongside Dutch symphonic-metal act Epica. The set lands on the "Legends" tour — the band's eleventh album — which pairs the new material with the war-history anthems Sabaton built its name on: massed choruses, pyrotechnics, a crowd that sings every hook back. Plateia Nerou is Release Athens' coastal open-air site on the Faliro front; the 18:30 start means the sun is still on the crowd when the first band plays.
