Barbara Kruger: Untitled (Pride and Contempt)
A 90-meter text mural wraps the façade of the National Library of Greece, flanked by installations running both banks of the SNFCC Canal. Barbara Kruger has translated her vocabulary of power, belief, and public language into Greek for the first time — thirteen site-specific works commissioned by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation for the cultural center's outdoor spaces. This is Kruger's first solo exhibition in Greece, curated by Katerina Stathopoulou.

Kontakthof
Twenty-three performers, aged 21 to 55, line up at the front of the stage and present themselves to you — straightening a collar, fixing a smile, waiting to be chosen. This is Kontakthof, Pina Bausch's 1978 dance-theatre study of courtship, tenderness and small cruelties, now staged by an all-Greek company 37 years after the work first played the Herodion. The revival carries unusual weight: it is the National Theatre's first collaboration with the Pina Bausch Foundation, under the direction of Josephine Ann Endicott, an original 1978 cast member, and Daphni Kokkinou.

Through the summer the Trivonianou room sits dark; on 9 October 2026 Half Note Jazz Club reopens for its new season — the Mets club runs October to May only, and this is the night the doors swing back open. Since 1979, Half Note has been Athens' dedicated jazz room: roughly 200 seats around small tables, a stage close enough to read the drummer's hands, and a season that runs to around 250 concerts of Greek and visiting players. The reopening announcement keeps the specific opening lineup under wraps — what's confirmed is the date and the return. Booking here is not optional.
Coma x SMUT with DJ Nobu, Rrose, JERM
CoMA, the Athens techno series run by JERM, joins the queer club SMUT for one night and hands the booth to DJ Nobu. Nobu founded Future Terror in Chiba in 2000 and runs the Bitta label; his sets fuse punk roots with hard-edged, hallucinogenic techno.
ΕΝΟΙΚΙΑΖΕΤΑΙ
The title is the sign on the apartment door: ΕΝΟΙΚΙΑΖΕΤΑΙ — for rent. Nefeli Maistrali's new romantic comedy premieres Saturday 10 October 2026 at Theatro Mikro Chorn on Amerikis 10, directed by Thanasis Zeritis, with Panagiotis Exarcheas and Maria Chanou as a couple whose three years together unfold inside a rented Kypseli apartment. Maistrali and Zeritis arrive as a proven pair — «Σπυριδούλες», «Κακούργα πεθερά», «Αριστερόχειρες» — and point the method at the housing crisis: viewings, deposits and square metres as the third presence in a two-hander, the relationship and the lease running out together. Performances run Saturday at 18:00, Sunday to Tuesday at 20:00.
Ο Κύριος Ζυλ - 2ος Χρόνος
**What it is.** Thomas Moschopoulos takes Strindberg's "Miss Julie" and turns it inside out: he moves the action to interwar Europe and reverses the gender of the title role, so the aristocrat locked in a night-long duel with a servant is now a man, Kyrios Zyl. The production returns to Theatro Porta for a second season. **Why it matters.** Moschopoulos writes and directs, reading Strindberg's class-and-desire trap as a queer contest for dominance where every advantage costs something.
Pre-Techniques: Richie Hawtin
Pre-Techniques opens the autumn techno season at Universe, the converted industrial multivenue out in Egaleo, with Richie Hawtin headlining the first night of the series' new cycle — a warm-up flare ahead of Techniques 2026. Hawtin built much of minimal techno's modern vocabulary: the Plastikman alias, the Plus 8 and Minus labels, and the DE9 mix series that treated the DJ set as studio-grade editing. His CLOSE shows fold live performance into the booth. The 23:00 start is no accident for a room this size.
