O Glaros (The Seagull) is a contemporary theater production of Chekhov at ΦΙΑΤ in Koukaki, Athens, opening 6 March 2026. Ninety minutes, no intermission — when the lights drop, the play does not let go.
Giorgos Valaris directs Katerina Didaskalou as Arkadina in a reading that strips Chekhov's Seagull to one question: the gap between what you dream and what you manage to live. Didaskalou's Arkadina fills the room — every gesture registers, every silence has weight.
A mother who cannot stop performing. A son who cannot start. A writer who consumes what he touches. You watch these people walk into the trap one quiet collision at a time, knowing what they cannot see. The experience is closer to eavesdropping than spectating.
If you want spectacle, this is people talking in rooms. If you want actors working at close range on material that rewards attention, ΦΙΑΤ puts you inside the play.
ΦΙΑΤ is at Falirou 97, walkable from Syngrou-Fix metro. Doors at 21:00. Tickets €25, €20 for students.
