Just before midnight on the last Saturday of August, the SMUT booth goes to one DJ and stays there. AgainstMe — the Greek, Berlin-based producer who holds a residency here — plays a one-night, all-night set, no support and no handover, building the long arc a single selector can only reach with the whole night to spend.

His sound runs hypnotic and heavy-drummed, ritual-minded techno shaped across releases on SOMA and Tar Hallow and floors like Tresor and Berghain's Säule.

SMUT is a queer techno institution with a real door: a Resident Advisor ticket buys priority, not a guarantee, and the dress code is read on arrival. Come dressed for the room you're walking into.
