Περιγραφή στα Αγγλικά
An organist sits at the bench of a 1933 Bauhaus church on Sina Street while three actresses speak Franz Kafka's letters to his youngest sister Ottla. ΔΙΚΟΣ ΣΟΥ, ΦΡΑΝΤΣ — Yours, Franz — is the first staging in Greece of this private correspondence, directed by Alexandros Diamantis, with Parthenopi Bouzouri, Maria Karakitsos, and Iro Goulitou working from Marina Agathagelidi's translation.
The organ part is not decorative: Christos Paraskevopoulos plays Bach, Buxtehude, and Frescobaldi between and beneath the letters. Ottla — the sister Kafka was closest to, who later died at Auschwitz — received some of his most direct, least performed prose.
If you want a conventional theatre house and stage lighting, this is not the room. But if you want Kafka in the acoustic where his letters sit closest to prayer, the German Evangelical Church on Sina is Diamantis's venue.
Sina 66, Kolonaki, ten-minute walk from Syntagma metro. Show at 20:00. Tickets through more.com. Five performances total — tonight is the third, two remaining in June.
