A novelist within reach of the Nobel Prize watches his words — his face, his voice, his memory — become raw material for machines. Ayad Akhtar's McNeal arrived at Lincoln Center in 2024 as Robert Downey Jr.'s Broadway debut; on 7 October 2026 it gets its Greek premiere at Neos Akadimos (Νέος Ακάδημος) in central Athens, with Pygmalion Dadakaridis in the title role.

Dadakaridis comes off two seasons of 'The Whale' and works for the first time with director Christos Sougaris. The staging leans into the play's subject: video design, digital projections and deepfake technology put artificial intelligence on stage rather than discussing it, folding Jacob McNeal's reality, memory and fabrications into one 90-minute psychological thriller.
