Ta Genethlia tis Ririkas is a children's musical theater production at Theatro Metaxourgeio in the Metaxourgeio neighborhood, Sundays at 12:00. A bear cub walks onstage with a suitcase, and forty small faces lean forward before a word is spoken.

Maria Kilaidoni wrote the music and story — her first children's production, now in its third season. Ririkas heads to the city for pistachio ice cream on her birthday, meeting twin hedgehogs who make sparklers, a crocodile baker, lion musicians, and a dancing kangaroo. Each character arrives with its own musical theme. Expect the audience to sing along by the second act. Direction by Giasemi Kilaidi.

If your child needs screen-speed stimulation, the pacing here is gentler. If you want live original music and a story about figuring things out with friends, this is the room.
