Περιγραφή στα Αγγλικά
A Greek island, 1965: summer arrivals, tangled flirtations, and a glamorous Greek-American woman who turns up wanting to buy the place for tourism. Tou agoriou apenanti is a musical set to the melodies of Mimis Plessas, written by Michalis Reppas and Thanasis Papathanassiou — the duo behind a generation of Greek stage and screen comedy — and directed by Yorgos Mourikis.
This is large-format summer theatre: a cast led by Alexandros Georgoulis and Yorgos Tsimitselis, an eight-piece orchestra and a twenty-strong ballet, across 150 minutes. It plays Theatro Alsos, the open-air stage inside Pedion tou Areos park, where the audience sits at tables of up to eight — closer to a supper club than rows of stalls. Plan to arrive thirty minutes before curtain.
If you want avant-garde or quiet intimacy, this is the opposite. But if you want Plessas songs, period romance and an Athens summer evening under open sky, Tou agoriou apenanti is built for exactly that.
