Medea has become this summer's hardest ticket: Karyofyllia Karabeti's touring production sold out its first Athens-area dates before the premiere, and presale for a September return opened while the July run was still ahead. Nikita Milivojević directs this take on Euripides' tragedy, which frames its title character not as a monster but — in the production's own language — as "a conscious human existence reaching the extreme limit while crushed between love and social class." Lazaros Georgakopoulos, Aris Lembesopoulos and Tassos Sotirakis complete the principal cast, with Stavros Katsatsidis and Vasilis Paraskevaidis playing live on stage to music by Dimitris Kamarotos.

At Lycabettus, Medea plays two dates six weeks apart — 7 July at 21:15, already sold out, and 6 September at 21:00 — inside a wider municipal-theatre tour that also stops in Vyronas, Egaleo, Piraeus, Papagou, Petroupoli, Korydallos, Ilioupoli and Vrilissia through 15 September. Tickets run 15 to 20 EUR depending on venue. No cars reach the hilltop theatre on performance nights: take the free municipal shuttle from Sarantapichou Street, 19:00 to 21:30.
