Περιγραφή στα Αγγλικά
Four broke Greeks, clinging to the bottom rung of a prosperity that left them behind, find their fragile routine upended when a Kurdish refugee turns up among them. From that collision «O Evros Apenanti» pulls its racism, its alienation, and its hard laughs. Written in 1998 by Thanasis Papathanasiou and Michalis Reppas — one of the duo's earliest and sharpest texts — the play returns under Giorgis Tsouris's direction at Theatro Anesis, with Vangelis Alexandris, Anna Koutsaftiki, Kostas Koronaios and a five-strong cast over 90 minutes. If you want comfort, the satire aims straight at the audience's own prejudices. But if you want Papathanasiou and Reppas at their most pointed, this revival earns its bite. Anesis sits at Kifisias 14 by Ampelokipoi metro, where Thursday performances drop to 18 EUR, with further reductions for under-24s and the unemployed — fitting terms, for this play.
