The velvet sofas at Red Jasper Cabaret Theatre fill up before the lights go down, and the room at Kefallonias 18 in Kypseli feels smaller than it is — which is the point. Den tha pethanoume kiolas is a stand-up comedy show by Giorgos Rizopoulos and Mairi Logotheti, with opening sets from D. Thoma and S. Oikonomou.

Rizopoulos is a stand-up comedian, playwright, and screenwriter who appeared on the Greek version of The Traitors on ANT1. Logotheti performs in the Athens queer comedy scene, including the Snap comedy nights at this same venue. Together they mine Generation X territory — inherited traumas, eighties nostalgia, the question of whether turning fifty means you have figured anything out.

If you want polished theatrical comedy with a fourth wall, Red Jasper does not operate that way. But if you want two comedians working material about aging and generational absurdity in a cabaret room built for immediacy, this is the format.
