Περιγραφή στα Αγγλικά
Groza started in 2016 as one man's tribute to Polish black metal — founder P.G. has said the debut was meant as Mgła worship — and grew into a four-piece that has played hundreds of shows across more than twenty countries. The sound is cold and melodic at once: blast beats beneath guitar lines that carry as much melancholy as rage.
This is the band's return to Athens, at Gazarte's ground-floor room in Gazi, a ten-minute walk from Kerameikos metro. Two albums — Unified in Void (2018) and The Redemptive End (2021) — map the distance from homage to a voice of their own.
Doors open at 20:30, a full hour before the 21:30 set, so there is time to settle into the room before the first track tightens it; buying food or drink is not required.
If you want melody to hum on the way out, this is not that night. But if you want sustained intensity that resolves into something close to grief, Groza is built for it.
A German black-metal four-piece in Athens for a single Wednesday in Gazi.
