Περιγραφή στα Αγγλικά
Giorgos Kapoutzidis wrote a comedy about a country that weeps easily, divides violently and undermines itself with rare consistency — then watched it sell out two seasons at the National Theatre. «Η ΚΑΡΥΑΤΙΔΑ!», directed by Katerina Mavrogeorgi, climbs to the open-air Theatro Lykavittou on 29 June as the summer tour reaches Athens.
Kapoutzidis, known to most Greeks as a screenwriter and television face, turns that fluency for popular comedy into something sharper here: the laughs arrive first, and the satire of national self-image lands underneath them.
If you want a quick exit afterward, the hilltop theatre complicates it — cars are kept off the summit on performance nights, with a free shuttle climbing from Sarantapichou Street in the hour before curtain. But if you want «Η ΚΑΡΥΑΤΙΔΑ!» under open sky with the city spread below, this is the tour's Athens stop.
Climb early; the shuttle stops before the show begins.
