The first weekend of October belongs to the old school. Metal Without Mercy runs three consecutive nights — Friday 2 to Sunday 4 October 2026, music from 19:00 to 23:30, four bands a night — and this ticket is the 75 EUR pass that covers all twelve.

One special wrinkle first, because it matters practically: the festival changes rooms mid-run. Friday and Sunday happen at Κύτταρο (Kyttaro), the club at Ipirou 48 that has been putting loud bands on its stage since 1970; Saturday moves to An Club in Exarchia. Same pass, different address — check twice before you set out on night two.

EAT METAL Records, the label assembling the bill, has stacked it with names seen more often on patch jackets than on posters. Friday belongs to Italy's Bulldozer — black, speed and thrash metal — with Desolation Angels, Baphomet's Blood and Chainsaw. Saturday at An Club is headed by Japan's Sabbat, black/thrash from the same cult lineage, alongside Toranaga, Riffobia and Demon Spell. Sunday closes back at Kyttaro with Metalucifer, Japanese heavy/speed metal, joined by Pentacle, Idmon's Aegis and Oath.

Metal Without Mercy draws a crowd of battle jackets with more patches than denim, collectors comparing pressings between sets, and fans who plan annual leave around bills like this. The atmosphere is that of a gathering rather than a gig: people come for the whole running order, not a single headliner, and the same faces edge closer to the stage each night.

If your ideal show is one arena act and an assigned seat, three club nights of four bands each is a different discipline. But if the point is standing a few meters from bands you have only ever owned on vinyl, this is your weekend.

Kyttaro is a short walk from Victoria station. Music starts at 19:00 each night, and the 75 EUR three-day pass is sold as a single ticket for the full run.

Twelve bands, two rooms, one pass at the top of the autumn season — Metal Without Mercy ends only when Metalucifer walk off on Sunday night.
