La Traviata returns to the Greek National Opera's Stavros Niarchos Hall on 23 July, twenty-five years after Nikos S. Petropoulos's original staging first opened — a production that has since toured to China and Thessaloniki. Loukas Karytinos conducts Verdi's score under Ion Kesoulis's revival direction, with Vasiliki Karagianni and Dimitra Kotidou alternating as Violetta, and Giannis Christopoulos and Konstantinos Klironomos sharing Alfredo. This Traviata is one date in an eight-performance July run, staged in the production considered Petropoulos's signature work.
