Every Saturday this summer, the small Apo Koinou theatre on Eupatridon — a short walk from Kerameikos metro — turns its stage over to an hour of stand-up. Antonis Xenos shares it with Eleni Gerasimidou, the veteran actress whose house this is, and the two work the title's pun: 'Stand-upantecha' folds the format into the Greek for 'unexpected', and the set chases whatever the week has thrown up rather than a fixed routine.
This is a room built for closeness, not a club cattle-call — 60 minutes, a drink in hand, the performers near enough to read the front row. Booking is by phone only; the 10-euro ticket-with-a-drink is the one most people take over the 16-euro standard.
If you want polished televised stand-up with a headliner and a warm-up act, this is looser than that. But if you want two stage actors riffing on the present tense in a Kerameikos black box, Stand-upantecha runs every Saturday through 29 August, skipping only the 15th.
