The Vougioukli sisters return to Theatre of the No with "Roots & Rituals," the program they have brought to this venue before. Eleni and Souzana sing repertoire that crosses Southern Italian ecstatic song, Balkan polyphony, Greek folk material, and the spare end of blues and rebetiko.

Theatre of the No holds about 100 people. For two voices working in close harmony, that scale matters — the room lets unaccompanied passages land without amplification fighting them. The sisters have built the show around what this space can hold.
