Chainides have spent three decades pulling Cretan tradition toward rock and folk and back again, and on 8 June the group brings that sound to Technopolis in Gazi with a stage full of guests — Fotini Velesiotou, Alkinoos Ioannidis, Miltos Paschalidis and Martha Frintzila.

Built on lyra, laouto and the rhyming mantinades of Crete, the Chainides treat island song as living material rather than heritage display, and this bill gathers four distinct voices from across Greek music around them.
