On the night of Wednesday 29 July 2026 the July full moon climbs over Stavros Niarchos Park and, for once, the gates never close. The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center stays awake until sunrise: people carry blankets onto the lawn, claim a patch of grass before dark, and settle in for a night of films, headphones, and water that does not stop until the yoga mats appear at six the next morning.

Full Moon Sleepover returns for a fourth summer, and the 2026 edition builds its all-night program around a Steven Spielberg film marathon on the open-air screen. Hook opens at 21:15, Jurassic Park follows at 23:45, Jaws surfaces at 02:00, and Poltergeist closes the run at 04:30 — four films back to back for anyone with the stamina to reach the last frame.

The crowd sorts itself by endurance. Families arrive early to claim ground near the screen and leave before midnight; couples drift toward the canal; the ones who came to reach dawn pack sleeping bags and treat the grass as a campsite. Nobody dresses up. By three in the morning the park belongs to the people who decided sleep was optional.

Around the films runs a parallel program. A silent disco takes over the Mediterranean Garden from 22:00 to 03:00 — two DJs, neon face paint, and wireless headphones you switch between channels with a button, so the dancing stays loud and the ground stays quiet. Kayaks put out onto the floodlit canal from 19:00. Board games and a quiz run at the Park Kiosk past midnight, and an adults' treasure hunt, built with Aperol, threads the paths and canal from 21:00. When the last film ends the night softens: yoga on the southern paths at 06:00, then twenty minutes of meditation as the sky goes pale.

If you want a still, early evening and your own bed by midnight, this is the opposite — the park runs loud, lit, and awake for nine hours straight. But if you have ever wanted to watch a film outdoors at two in the morning and then fall asleep on a lawn full of strangers, this is the one night the park hands you.

The SNFCC (ΚΠΙΣΝ) sits on Syngrou Avenue in Kallithea, reached by tram or the Foundation's own 'Sleepless at the SNFCC' shuttle that runs to and from Syntagma through the night. Bring a blanket to spread and mosquito repellent; the Park Kiosk and food spots stay open until late, and pets are welcome. Every activity is open entry.

The moon is full on 29 July, the park stays open exactly once, and by seven the next morning the whole thing has dissolved into a yoga class and gone.
