Ten scenes unfold like a deck of mismatched cards. A character splits into several selves, reassembles, splits again — prose bleeds into movement, movement dissolves into dance. This is a surrealist mapping of the identities you built in order to function, and the ones that existed before socialization filed the edges down.

Gátes me Fránzes (Cats with Bangs) plays at Red Jasper Cabaret Theatre in Kypseli, created and directed by Eleni Mylona and P. Gavrilidis. The production earned distinction at Red Jasper's 4th Contemporary Artistic Cabaret Festival and was subsequently expanded into its current form. The cast works through interrupted images, fragmented narratives, and the shadows of the contemporary psyche, with sound design by Ig. Kamienski pulling the ground out at intervals.

If you want linear storytelling with a resolution, these cats do not follow that arc. But if you want seventy minutes of theater that trusts its audience to sit inside ambiguity, the seats are arranged.
