The lawn at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) flattens into a field of blankets as the light goes amber over the coast, and the screen at the far end waits for the sky to finish dimming. This is *Park Your Cinema*, the open-air summer film series on the SNFCC lawn — and this screening is built so that no one has to sit still or stay quiet to take part.

The film is *School of Rock* (2003), Richard Linklater's comedy with Jack Black as Dewey Finn, a broke guitarist who bluffs his way into a substitute-teaching job at a buttoned-up prep school and turns his ten-year-old students into a working rock band. Park Your Cinema's programme is curated by the Thessaloniki International Film Festival, and this date runs as a Sensory Friendly Screening, produced with TheHappyAct for guests with autism and sensory-processing differences.

Expect families spread across the grass rather than seated in rows — kids who will air-guitar the final concert scene, parents who already know every Dewey Finn line, and visitors who come precisely because this version of cinema doesn't demand stillness. People arrive early, claim a patch of lawn, and treat the space as their own.

The setting is plain and the rules are few: open-air under the sky, a relaxed and family-led crowd, the soundtrack pitched lower than a standard screening, and admission open to all with a free shuttle bus running from Syntagma.

The sensory-friendly format rewrites what a cinema usually enforces. The volume is brought down, there are no advertisements to sit through, and there's no requirement to stay silent. A large open area lets anyone stand, move, or step away and come back without leaving the screening. For a film whose whole argument is that a classroom should be louder and freer than the adults allow, the format and the movie want the same thing.
