A writer travels to a prison to interview Martin, twenty-one and serving life for killing his father, meaning to build a play about patricide performed by the two of them. When the Ministry bars Martin from the stage, the writer recruits an actor, Federico, to stand in, and the line between document, confession and fiction dissolves.

This is Mia alli Thiva (Another Thebes), Sergio Blanco's text in Vangelis Theodoropoulos' staging, which played four sold-out Athens seasons and over 250,000 spectators before this short open-air summer tour. The Papagou garden theatre hosts it on 21 June, one of the run's few Athens dates.

If you want light fare under the stars, look elsewhere; Mia alli Thiva is dense, autobiographical fiction that rewards attention. The 21:15 curtain waits for the heat to drop, and the open-air theatre is reached by bus rather than metro, so plan the route. Tickets run €22, or €20 reduced — a rare summer chance at a show that sold out indoors for years.
