In a cramped Gazi apartment in the 1950s, Thanasis and Ourania needle each other through poverty and constant nagging — and Giorgos Dialegmenos turns that misery into comedy. «Χάσαμε τη Θεία Στοπ», directed by Christos Tripodis for the Methexis company, reaches the open-air Kipotheatro Papagou on 29 June after a run at the Athens stage Theatro FILIP.

Dialegmenos writes the poor not as victims but as people who quarrel and love in the same breath, and Tripodis keeps the comedy inside that domestic friction rather than reaching for farce.

If you want air-conditioned comfort and a quick ride home on the metro, this garden theatre is the wrong fit — it sits among the trees of Papagou, reached by bus or taxi rather than rail. But if you want an evening outdoors with one of Greek comedy's sharpest domestic writers, bring a layer for when the garden cools after dark.
