Nikos Xydakis takes the Half Note stage for two consecutive nights — 24 and 25 April 2027 — closing in on the Mets basement's seasonal shutter date, since Half Note runs October through May and then goes dark for summer. The Greek composer, whose catalogue spans collaborations with Eleftheria Arvanitaki and Sokratis Malamas, frames the residency as a transition from songs to set poems, from improvisations to small confessions. He performs with a four-piece ensemble — Alexandros Kapsokavadis on guitar and laouto, Dimitris Sintos on piano and contrabass, Despina Spanou on cello, Fotis Mylonas on flute and clarinet, all of them adding vocals.

Half Note seats roughly two hundred around small tables, ten minutes' walk from Akropoli metro. The house policy is the same it has been since 1979: reserve ahead, confirm the same day, arrive twenty minutes before downbeat or the table releases fifteen minutes after the music starts.

If you want spectacle, this is the wrong room. If you want Xydakis at speaking distance for a two-night Athens stand, this is the only one.
