Περιγραφή στα Αγγλικά
An actor picks up a brush and becomes Theofilos Hatzimichail — the self-taught painter who covered Lesvos and mainland walls in folk scenes for bread and small change, ridiculed alive and revered dead. That transformation drives «Theofilos Sold», a tragicomedy for all ages by Samson Raka, directed by Olia Lazaridou, drawing on folk-performance and circus craft. Haris Charalambos Kazepis carries the title role beside Ariadni Konstantakopoulou. The show returns this October at Theatro Psyrri, having already played the Athens School of Fine Arts, Fougaro in Nafplio, and Plaka's Old University, and it suits the venue's intimate 186-seat scale a short walk from Thissio and Monastiraki stations. If you came for a solemn art-history lecture, this is not it — expect colour, song, and clowning. But if you want Theofilos rendered through the same folk idiom he painted in, Lazaridou's production lands it. The Tuesday slot opens the week's program.
