A mysterious woman walks into a ministry office and a civil servant's ordered day comes apart. A phone call? An inspection? An attack on democracy, or his own conscience? That is the spring of «ΜΙΛΗΣΤΕ ΕΛΕΥΘΕΡΑ» (Speak Freely), a 75-minute two-hander built on a comedy by the Italian playwright Aldo Nicolaj.

Miltos Nikas directs Christina Bakastathi and Palaiologos Chalidas, who also translates, in a staging that premiered in Patras in March 2026 and now transfers to the Omega Stage of the Dimotiko Theatro Peiraia for a limited run of three performances: Friday 4 and Saturday 5 September 2026 at 20:30, Sunday 6 September at 19:00 — note the earlier Sunday curtain. Tickets from 5 EUR.

The metro terminal is named for this theater and leaves you at its door, and the station concourse doubles as a display of ancient Piraeus finds, worth a few minutes before curtain. If you want broad farce, look elsewhere; if you want a comedy that corners the crowd into taking a side, Speak Freely closes Sunday.
