Now in its fifth decade, Cheimerinoi Kolymvites — the Argyris Bakirtzis-led folk-poetic outfit founded in 1979 — returns to Kyttaro alongside Alexandros Ktistakis, the multi-instrumentalist who has worked with Thanasis Papakonstantinou since 2013.
The band occupies a specific corner of Greek songcraft: literary lyrics, acoustic textures, an irreverent eye for the everyday. Ktistakis brings an instrumental palette shaped by years inside Papakonstantinou's circle — a different texture against Bakirtzis's writing.
Kyttaro is the Exarchia rock club that hosted the first Greek airings of Hendrix, Zappa and the Velvet Underground nearly half a century ago. A short walk from Omonia metro; tickets via the venue's advance channels.
