«When Love...»
Eight songs carry one woman from the first sight of the man she will marry, through the wedding and the child, to the silence after his death. That is Robert Schumann's "Frauenliebe und -leben," and it anchors this recital at the Megaron, where singer Eftychia Giannakakou and pianist Dimitris Giakas set a German song cycle beside the French mélodie and let the two traditions circle the same subject. Giakas is a recurring presence on the Megaron's song-recital programs, the pianist Greek singers turn to when an evening lives on the partnership between voice and keyboard rather than on volume.

La Traviata returns to the Greek National Opera's Stavros Niarchos Hall on 23 July, twenty-five years after Nikos S. Petropoulos's original staging first opened — a production that has since toured to China and Thessaloniki.
Ταξίδι στο φως
On a hill that cars cannot climb on show nights, Stavros Xarchakos raises a baton over a repertoire he has been writing and arranging for six decades. «Ταξίδι στο Φως» is his touring programme through Greek song, which played two sold-out nights at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus in 2025 and reaches the Dimotiko Theatro Lykavittou on Saturday 5 September 2026. Giannis Kotsiras and Iro Saia sing; Xarchakos conducts. Take the free municipal shuttle from Sarantapichou Street, which runs 19:00 to 21:30 — private cars are turned back at the foot of the hill, and the climb on foot is steep enough to matter in September heat.

"Earino Pathos" (Spring Passion) is a Holy Week concert at the German Evangelical Church of Athens on Saturday 27 March 2027 at 20:00, Sina 68 in Kolonaki, ticketed admission. Built between 1931 and 1934 by architect Karl Bensel in Bauhaus / New Objectivity style, the church's single nave rises more than ten meters and lets sound carry unbroken from chancel to back pew — the reason this room anchors the Abendmusik series.

The Athens Conservatoire's "Aris Garoufalis" Hall is a Bauhaus-austere room — Pentelic marble exterior, strict geometry by Ioannis Despotopoulos, Gropius's student — and on the evening of 16 April 2027 it opens the 39th Athens International Guitar Festival with two Italian duets tuning. Costas Cotsiolis, the classical guitarist whose own playing pushed Greek guitar onto the international recital circuit, founded the festival in 1978 and has directed every edition since. Opening night pairs Duo Aniello with violinist Gennaro Desiderio, then Duo Giampaolo Bandini with bandoneonist Cesare Chiacchiaretta — two couplings that set the edition's thread of guitar against another voice. You will share the hall with the city's classical-guitar circle: conservatory students who track international recital circuits, older subscribers who remember which Rodrigo recording still undersells the concertos, the small Italian-Greek diaspora who turn out for any Bandini date in Athens. Jamie Duffy
In October 2025 the Irish composer Jamie Duffy released a self-titled debut album recorded across Ireland and Iceland with BAFTA-winning producer Atli Örvarsson; on 24 April 2027 he plays Odeio Athinon. The same cycle has carried him through main-stage support for Hans Zimmer and Andrea Bocelli at BST Hyde Park, a sold-out 2,600-ticket Irish headline run, and his Dublin National Concert Hall debut.

"Apoichoi tou Romantismou" — Echoes of Romanticism — is a solo piano recital by Michalis Papadopoulos at Odeio Athinon on 24 April 2027, organised around the late-Romantic and post-Romantic Slavic and Eastern European keyboard repertoire: Scriabin, Rachmaninoff, Szymanowski, Medtner. The four composers share a vocabulary that pulled Chopin’s lyricism into denser harmonic territory, and a recital that programmes all four together asks the listener to hear, in Papadopoulos’s reading, the bridge from Romanticism into early modernism in one sitting.

Sixteen children and adults with disabilities or special educational needs, drawn from the Filippos Nakas Conservatory's Community Music Therapy department and the Special Musicians organisation, take the Athens Conservatoire stage for this concert on 24 April 2027 — the country's oldest performing-arts institution, a brutalist Despotopoulos complex near Syntagma that hosted documenta 14. Community music therapy rarely lands a platform of this scale; the Conservatoire showcase is the public-facing turn for a year's clinical group work, not a virtuoso recital.
